Yarra Valley Syrah
Wine
Luke Lambert Wines Yarra Valley Syrah draws from a single site in one of the coolest areas of the Yarra Valley, near Gembrook. The vines grow in a seam of black volcanic soil, unusual for the region.
The grapes are wild yeast fermented with a high proportion of whole bunches, often up to 80%. The wine then matures in a large old French oak foudre (vat) for around 12 months, then is bottled without fining or filtration.
Crimson red, Luke Lambert Wines Yarra Valley Syrah is a cool climate Shiraz, medium bodied with dark fruit flavours, plenty of spice and fine tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
